Dr Pattanathu Rahman, Founder
Dr Pattanathu Rahman (Pat) is a Founder of Tara with 20 years of research experience on novel biotechnological approach in bioproduct development and winner of TU Enterprise Project of the year award. Dr Rahman has completed his Doctorate degree in Microbiology at Bharathiar University and Advanced Biomanufacturing of Biopharmaceuticals Course at University of Cambridge (UK). Then started his career as a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland (2000-01), research associate in the Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York, USA (2001 -02) and Teesside University (2003-to date) mostly working on biotechnology research and enterprise projects.
Dr Yvonne Armitage, Advisor
Dr Yvonne Armitage is an innovation strategy and commercialisation specialist with decades of expertise in industrial biotechnology (IB) and the bioeconomy. Yvonne spent 9 years at the Knowledge Transfer Network, which is part of the Innovate UK family as Bioeconomy Specialist and Head of Industrial Biotechnology. Prior to joining KTN Yvonne spent 20 years in industry (Ciba, BASF, ISP) where she was head of research groups focused new green technologies, mainly biotech products and processes for various chemical intermediates and sectors. Yvonne has a degree in chemistry and a PhD in microbiology and biochemistry. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology where she Chairs the Employer Advisory Group and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
